Terp Pearls Wholesale: What Smoke Shops Should Stock

Terp Pearls Wholesale: What Smoke Shops Should Stock

Terp pearls wholesale lineup: quartz, ruby and sapphire pearls, a checkered quartz pillar and directional spinner caps on white

Quick brief

What do you need to know first?

The short answer on sizes, materials and what to pair them with.

Quick Answer: Terp pearls are small beads that spin in a banger under a directional cap. Stock plain quartz pearls deep in 5mm and 6mm, add ruby and sapphire as the step-up tier, and keep pillars for slurper owners. Ruby and sapphire are corundum, which rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. Quartz rates 7.

Terp pearls wholesale is a small buy with a big job: it turns a banger sale into a full setup. Here’s how to size, tier and display them so they reorder.

The basics

What are terp pearls, and why do smoke shops stock them?

Start here if pearls are still a bag behind the register.

Terp pearls are small quartz, ruby or sapphire beads that spin in a banger under a directional cap. They’re a low-ticket add-on that rides along with every banger and cap you sell.

A customer buying a banger is already standing at your counter. Pearls are the easiest thing to add to that ticket. They’re small, they’re cheap to display, and they make the banger and cap you just sold do their job.

That’s why we file them next to our wholesale quartz bangers, not in a drawer. Our quartz banger stocking guide covers the banger side of the same counter.

Sizing

Which terp pearl sizes should you carry?

Match sizes to the bangers and slurpers you already sell.

Carry 5mm and 6mm quartz pearls deep, since the quartz pearl listing sizes them for most quartz bangers. Keep 3mm and 4mm shallow unless you sell a lot of small-chamber setups.

The plain quartz pearls we carry come in 10-packs from 3mm to 6mm. The listing pairs 3mm and 4mm with Puffco and 5mm and 6mm with most quartz bangers. Ruby and sapphire packs run 3mm to 5mm.

Slurper owners shop differently. The quartz pillars we carry are listed for slurpers, and the checkered pillar comes in a short and a tall length. Keep one of each next to the slurpers in your terp pearls and pillars section.

Materials

Quartz, ruby or sapphire: which should you stock?

Three materials, three jobs in the case.

Quartz is the entry tier, and ruby and sapphire are the step-up. Both gems are corundum, which rates 9 on the Mohs scale against quartz’s 7, so they resist scratching better.

Hardness here means scratch resistance. That’s the one material difference we can point to with a source, so it’s the one we’d use at the counter. The rest is color and price tier.

Quartz7Entry tier, stock deep
Ruby9 (corundum)Step-up, a few packs
Sapphire9 (corundum)Step-up, a few packs

Shaped pearls, like the mushroom pearls we carry, are a display piece. They catch an eye in the case, so give them one facing and let the plain packs do the volume. Wholesale pricing is behind your account login, so set your tiers once you can see live numbers.

Sell the whole set. Three directional spinner carb caps on a white background. Stock terp pearls.

Pairing

Which carb cap should you sell with terp pearls?

Sell the set, not the pearl.

A directional or spinner cap. Its airflow is what spins the pearls, so sell pearls with the cap and a flat-top banger, and one add-on becomes a full setup.

The directional caps we stock are built for this. The vortex spinner cap listing says it creates airflow for spinning pearls, and the slitted ball cap is made for use with pearls on most flat-top bangers. Put the caps right beside the pearls. Our wholesale carb caps category carries several directional styles.

From the Counter — Pearls and caps go together

Every banger you sell needs a cap. Without one, air leaks in the top and your customer doesn’t get a proper pull. The directional cap is the one I’d push with pearls. Its airflow catches the pearls and keeps them moving in the wax, so the dab doesn’t burn in one spot.

A bubble cap works without pearls, but it’s less efficient at spinning them. That’s why the directional cap sits next to the pearls.

Stocking plan

How should you display and reorder terp pearls?

Put them where the banger sale happens.

Display pearls at the counter beside bangers and caps, keep plain quartz packs deep, and give the gem and shaped pearls one facing each. Reorder the plain packs first.

That’s the case for buying bulk terp pearls in plain quartz. Pearls are small, and small parts are easy to lose. That makes a plain quartz pack an easy replacement buy for a customer who already owns the banger. Keep that pack where your staff can reach it without walking.

The gem pearls are the trade-up. Show them next to the quartz so a customer sees both tiers in one glance. Slurper sets with marbles, pearls and a pillar give slurper owners a one-grab answer.

Why most wholesale guides get terp pearls wrong

Distributor catalogs list pearls by material and color, then stop. They skip the cap. A pearl sold without a directional cap is half a sale, and the customer who can’t get them spinning well blames your shop.

Don’t buy pearls as a standalone line. Buy them as the third piece of a set: banger, cap, pearls. That’s how they sell.

What I’d stock

What would I stock if I bought terp pearls wholesale today?

A starting list you can price once you’re logged in.

Plain quartz pearls deep in 5mm and 6mm, a few ruby and sapphire packs, one shaped pearl, pillars for slurpers, and two directional caps right beside them.

If I were setting up the dab corner this month, here’s the pearl section:

  • Quartz pearls: 5mm and 6mm packs, deep. A few 3mm and 4mm if you carry e-rig glass.
  • Gem pearls: a few ruby and sapphire packs as the step-up.
  • Display: one shaped pearl, like the mushroom pack.
  • Slurper side: a short and a tall pillar, plus one slurper set.
  • Caps: two directional styles within arm’s reach.

That covers flat-top owners and slurper owners without overbuying, which is the point of buying terp pearls wholesale in tiers. For the rest of the counter, see our accessories stocking guide, and pair the section with wholesale dab rigs if you’re building the concentrate side from scratch.

Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to what buyers search before they order pearls.

Where can a smoke shop buy terp pearls wholesale?

From a wholesale supplier that sells pearls in packs and shows live pricing once your account is approved. The quartz, ruby and sapphire pearls we carry come in 10-packs. Wholesale pricing is behind your account login.

What size terp pearls fit a quartz banger?

The quartz pearl listing pairs 5mm and 6mm with most quartz bangers, and 3mm and 4mm with Puffco. Stock 5mm and 6mm deep, and check the banger’s listing when in doubt.

Are ruby terp pearls better than quartz?

Ruby and sapphire are corundum, which rates 9 on the Mohs scale against quartz at 7, so they resist scratching better. Sell them as the step-up tier and keep quartz as the entry tier.

Which carb cap works best with terp pearls?

A directional or spinner cap. Its airflow spins the pearls. The directional caps we stock are listed for use with pearls on flat-top bangers, so display them right beside the pearl packs.

Do terp slurpers take terp pearls?

Yes, per the listings. The ruby and sapphire pearls we carry are listed as compatible with quartz bangers and slurpers, and the slurper sets include a marble, terp pearls, a valve marble and a pillar.
