Quick brief
What do you need to know first?
The short answer on which cleaners and tools to carry.
Quick Answer: Bong cleaner is the add-on that follows every glass sale: a solution that breaks down resin, plus the tools that make it work. Stock one soak cleaner, one shake cleaner, and the caps and brushes that sell with them. The Aneu Simple Soak we carry comes in a 32 oz bottle.
Bong cleaner is one thing every glass customer needs again. Here’s which cleaners to carry, which tools sell beside them, and where to put them.
The basics
Why should a smoke shop stock bong cleaner?
Start here if cleaning is still a single bottle by the register.
Because every bong you sell gets dirty. A customer who cleans weekly comes back for cleaner, caps and brushes long after the glass sale, and that repeat trip is the point.
Smoke Cartel’s cleaning guide tells daily users to deep clean once a week. That’s a customer who runs through cleaner on a schedule. If your shop doesn’t carry it, they’ll buy it somewhere else, and their next glass purchase may follow.
Cleaner also rides along with the glass sale itself. A customer buying from your wholesale bongs case is the easiest customer to sell a bottle to. They’re already holding the piece it’s for.

The lineup
Which bong cleaner types should you carry?
Two ways to clean, and customers usually pick one.
Carry one soak cleaner, one shake cleaner and 99% isopropyl. Some customers want to pour, wait and rinse. Others want to shake and be done, and some clean with iso and salt.
The same guide says a dedicated cleaner removes resin faster, with less shaking and no mixing. That’s the pitch your staff can use. Here’s how the cleaners we carry split.
| Type | How it works, per the listing | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Soak (Aneu Simple Soak) | Soak and rinse, no scrubbing or shaking | Heavy buildup, hands-off cleaning |
| Shake (Aneu Shake to Shine) | Shake to clean, no soaking | Quick cleans between soaks |
| Downstem (StemClenz) | A downstem cleaner, no soaking required | Where most resin collects |
| Isopropyl (Aneu 99%) | Dissolves resin, oils and buildup, evaporates quickly | Iso-and-salt shakes, quartz and small parts |
The soak bong cleaner is the bigger bottle. The listing says it works on glass, metal and silicone, which matters if you also sell silicone pieces. The shake bong cleaner is the quick one for the customer who won’t wait.
Add-ons
Which cleaning tools sell with the cleaner?
The tools are what make the bottle work.
Cleaning caps, pipe brushes and cotton swabs. Caps seal the openings for shaking, brushes reach the downstem and tight spots, and swabs handle quartz. Put them right next to the bottle.
Before any bong cleaner goes to work, the guide tells customers to cover every opening with their hands or cleaning plugs, then shake. The Hytek caps we carry are reusable and built for exactly that seal. They’re the easiest add-on to the cleaner sale.
The same guide calls the downstem the place where most resin concentrates. That’s why brushes sell. The Pipe Perfect brush packs we carry come in an original pack and a mini six-piece set for tight spots. Point downstem buyers from your bowls and downstems section to them.
Dab customers clean differently. The Glob Mops banger bucket is a dunk station for quartz with a screw-on lid, and the listing calls it essential for terp slurpers. Keep it with the Glob Mops swabs.

At the counter
How do customers actually clean their glass?
What to tell a customer who asks how to use it.
The method is simple: hot water rinse, add cleaner, plug the openings, shake, then rinse until it runs clear. Teach that order, and warn customers off boiling water on cold glass.
Smoke Cartel’s cleaning guide flags boiling water on cold glass as a thermal shock risk that can crack borosilicate. It also says to skip bleach and acetone. That’s two sentences your staff can say that save a customer’s piece and your reputation.
From the Counter — How I clean my own glass
I warm the glass up with some hot water first. If it’s a small piece, I shake it in a bag with rubbing alcohol and salt.
If it’s a tube or a rig, I put in a little iso and then salt, plug each side, and shake. Then I rinse it out with water, thoroughly.
For dab glass, a flat top cleans with just a Q-tip. A slurper, you kind of need to dunk in iso to really get it clean.
That’s why the iso belongs on the shelf too. We carry Aneu 99% isopropyl in a 100 mL squeeze bottle for on the go, and Aneu 99% isopropyl in 32 oz bottles, sold as a 12-count case. Customers who clean with iso and salt still need the caps and brushes.
Stocking plan
Where should bong cleaner go in your shop?
Put cleaning where the glass sale ends.
Put the bong cleaner and tools at the register or right beside the glass case, not in a back aisle. Keep the soak and shake bottles side by side, with caps and brushes in reach.
Bong cleaner is a reach-and-grab buy. Nobody walks across the store for a brush. Put them where the customer is already standing when they pay, and say one line: do you have something to clean it with?
Keep the dab side separate. Swabs and the banger bucket belong in the dab case, beside the bangers they clean.
If you’re building the glass side too, our wholesale beaker bongs guide covers the bong half of the same sale. Wholesale pricing is behind your account login, so you’ll set your tiers once you can see live numbers.
Why most guides get bong cleaner wrong
Most bong cleaner guides rank bottles. That’s a consumer question. A shop’s question is what sells with the bottle.
A customer who buys cleaner and goes home without caps ends up shaking with their hands over the holes. A customer without a brush leaves the downstem dirty. Stock the method, not just the bottle: cleaner, caps and a brush, sold together.
What I’d stock
What would I stock for bong cleaning today?
A starting list you can price once you’re logged in.
One soak cleaner, one shake cleaner, 99% isopropyl in two sizes, a downstem cleaner, cleaning caps, two brush packs, and swabs plus a banger bucket on the dab side.
If I were setting up the cleaning section this month, here’s the list:
- Cleaners: Aneu Simple Soak and Aneu Shake to Shine, side by side.
- Isopropyl: Aneu 99% iso in the 100 mL squeeze bottle and the 32 oz bottle.
- Downstems: the StemClenz kit.
- Shake tools: Hytek cleaning caps.
- Brushes: the original and mini Pipe Perfect packs.
- Dab side: Glob Mops swabs and a banger bucket.
That bong cleaner setup covers the bong customer, the downstem problem and the dab customer, without a wall of bottles. Browse the full bong cleaner and accessories category, and see our accessories stocking guide for the rest of the counter.

For a counter recommendation, a dedicated bong cleaner plus cleaning caps and a brush. Smoke Cartel’s guide says a dedicated cleaner removes resin faster, with less shaking and no mixing.
What removes resin from a bong?
A soak or shake bong cleaner breaks resin down, and a brush clears the downstem, where Smoke Cartel’s guide says most resin collects. Plug the openings before shaking.

Smoke Cartel’s guide says daily users should deep clean once a week and change the water after every session. That’s why cleaner is a repeat buy.
Can you pour boiling water into a glass bong?
