What is a dab rig?

A dab rig is a small water pipe made for vaporizing concentrates instead of flower. In place of a bowl it uses a quartz banger or nail, which you heat with a torch or e-nail; the concentrate hits the hot surface, turns to vapor, and gets pulled through water for a cooler draw. Rigs run smaller than bongs on purpose — less water and a shorter path keep the flavor sharp.

How do you use a dab rig?

Using a dab rig is a four-step routine: heat the quartz banger with a torch until it glows, let it cool 30–60 seconds for a low-temp dab, drop in concentrate with a dab tool, and cap it with a carb cap while you inhale. Lower temps protect flavor; higher temps make bigger clouds. A temperature reader takes the guesswork out for newer customers.

How does a dab rig work?

A dab rig works by turning concentrate to vapor on a heated surface, then filtering that vapor through water. The banger holds the heat, the carb cap traps airflow over the puddle so nothing is wasted, and the water chamber cools the vapor before it reaches the mouthpiece. The smaller the rig, the less the vapor cools and the more flavor stays intact — the reason dab rigs are built compact.

How much water goes in a dab rig?

A dab rig takes only enough water to cover the downstem slits or percolator — usually a small splash, far less than a bong. Too much water drowns the airflow and splashes back; too little skips the filtration. Tell customers to fill until the perc just bubbles on a test pull, then dump and refill it often, since concentrate residue clouds the water fast.

How do you clean a dab rig?

Cleaning a dab rig is an isopropyl-alcohol and coarse-salt soak: empty the water, add 91% iso and a pinch of salt, cap the openings, and shake so the salt scrubs the resin loose. Rinse with hot water and let it dry. The banger gets swabbed out warm after each dab with a glob mop so it never fully “chazzes.” Cleaner and swabs are an easy add-on at the counter.

Dab rig vs. bong — what’s the difference?

A dab rig is for concentrates and a bong is for flower. The rig is smaller, runs a quartz banger you heat with a torch, and uses less water to keep flavor tight; the bong is taller, runs a bowl you pack and light, and uses more water for a cooler, bigger hit. Some shops stock bongs for flower and rigs for dabs side by side — many customers buy both.

Is there an order minimum on wholesale dab rigs?

No. Order a few to test styles in your case or a full run — no minimums, no pallet commitments. Reorder whatever moves.

Do I need a license to buy wholesale?

You’ll need a seller’s permit or sales-tax (resale) certificate to open a wholesale account — that’s it. No medical or cannabis license is required, since glass and accessories aren’t controlled. Sign up, send us the cert, and we’ll get you approved.

How much margin is in a dab rig?

Rigs pull a strong markup because customers buy on looks, and the banger sale rides along with every one. A comfortable markup is about 2x the wholesale price, plus roughly $10 on top for wiggle room. Heady pieces carry even more. You set your own retail price.
