Quick brief
What do you need to know first?
The answer, the spec behind it, and what this guide is built from.
Quick Answer: Wholesale pipes are the glass hand pipes and spoons a smoke shop buys in volume for the counter. Carry a deep row of entry-level mixed-color hand pipes, a short row of thick-walled step-up pipes, and only a few pack SKUs. Cover three entry lengths: roughly 3, 4 and 5 inches.

Wholesale pipes are the easiest category to overbuy, because every catalog lists dozens and none of them tells you which ones move. This guide sorts our range of smoke shop hand pipes by price tier and by what shops come back to reorder.
The short answer
What are wholesale pipes, and which ones sell through in a smoke shop?
Start here if you are deciding what goes in the pipe case this quarter.
Wholesale pipes are the hand pipes, spoons and small glass pieces a shop buys in volume at wholesale pricing, and the ones that sell through fastest sit at the entry-level price point. In our range, the low-price mixed-color pipes are clearly the bestsellers.
That is a different answer from the usual one. Most pipe guides sort by style, and we have already covered style and display in our best glass pipes for smoke shops guide. This one sorts by what a counter customer pays and what shops reorder, because that decides how much case space each tier earns.
Our full range of wholesale hand pipes runs from entry-level mixed-color pieces to thick step-up pipes and multi-piece packs. Wholesale pricing for every tier is behind your account login.

What sells
Which wholesale pipes move the most?
The hand pipe range in price tiers, and the job each tier does in the case.
The entry tier carries the volume, the thick step-up tier earns a short row, and the pack tier is there for display variety. Our bestseller in the whole hand pipe category is the 4-inch speckled hand pipe mix, and the other mixed-color pieces around it are among the steadiest reorders.
| Tier | What is in it | Its job in the case |
|---|---|---|
| Entry tier | Mixed-color speckled, fumed and squiggle hand pipes, about 3 to 5 inches | The volume row. Most facings, deepest reorder. |
| Step-up tier | THICK BOY thick-walled hand pipes and screen spoon pipes, around 5 inches | A short row for the customer who wants a heavier piece. |
| Pack tier | 4- and 5-piece packs of spoon, Sherlock and bubble hand pipes | Display-case variety in one line item, not volume. |
| Alternative material | A silicone hand pipe with a glass screen bowl | One facing for a different kind of customer. |
The pattern is a category with a few workhorses and a long tail. The long tail is where most catalogs spend your case space, and it is where a first order usually goes wrong.
Packs need a caution before you compare them. A pack sells as one line item that holds four or five pieces, so in a line-item count a pack looks slower than its piece count. Judge a pack by the job it does in the case, not by how often it reorders.

Why it turns
Why do entry-level wholesale pipes outsell everything else?
The price point explains most of it. How long a listing has been live does not.
Because a low-price pipe is the easiest yes at the counter. A customer will pick up a mixed-color pipe on impulse that they would talk themselves out of at several times the price. A mixed-color listing gives them a reason to grab the one they like.
Time on the site is not what drives the gap. Our newer mixed-color listings have already passed pack SKUs that went live years earlier.
Stock status is part of the picture. Some pack SKUs have spent stretches out of stock, and a SKU that is out of stock stops selling. Treat the pack tier as under-measured rather than proven weak, and check availability when you order.

The step-up tier
Where do thick step-up pipes and pack-priced pipes fit?
The two tiers that do not carry volume still have jobs in the case.
The THICK BOY line is a steady step-up piece, and the packs are a case-display tool, not a volume driver. The plain 5-inch THICK BOY hand pipe is one of our steadiest reorders in the category. Repeat orders show up in the entry tier too, so this is not a step-up-only pattern.
The pack tier does a different job. A pack gives a shop a mixed handful of finishes in one line item, which is convenient for a display case. It does not earn the depth the entry row earns.
Two smaller formats round out the range. A 4.5-inch silicone hand pipe with a glass screen bowl gives you one alternative-material facing. Our variety hand pipe bundles put a mixed lot in one order, but we have too little reorder history on them to call them either way.
If your customers buy at the bottom of the price range, our entry-price wholesale collection is the fastest way to see everything we list in that lane, hand pipes included.
From the Counter — The Cheapest Pipe in the Case
What I tell shops about the entry row: stay clear of gas-station glass. That glass is no-name and super thin. Ash pulls through the bowl, and it breaks from normal handling.
Nobody should buy it on purpose. The customer who ends up with it didn’t know what to look for and grabbed the cheapest thing in sight.
Past that line, thickness is preference, not a requirement. Some customers like the heft of a thick piece, and some like a lighter one. Roots glass doesn’t try to out-pretty the fancy brands. The glass works, and that’s the pitch.

Stocking plan
What should a first wholesale pipe order look like?
Build the case in tiers instead of by style, and keep the deep row in the entry tier.
Weight your depth to the entry tier, give the thick step-up tier a short row, and treat packs as a display-case add-on. That is the shape our reorders support, and it is what we would put in a case today.
Here is what we would stock first:
- Entry tier, most depth: mixed-color pipes in three lengths, roughly 3, 4 and 5 inches, with at least one speckled or fumed finish. This is the row that carries the volume.
- Step-up tier, short row: two THICK BOY pipes, the plain 5-inch and one screen spoon. The plain one is the steadiest reorder in that tier.
- One alternative material: a single silicone hand pipe with a glass screen bowl.
- Packs, sparingly: one or two 4- or 5-piece pack SKUs for the display case. Check availability at order time.
- Skip for now: the large variety bundles until you have seen your own counter data.
Match the pipe case to the rest of the glass wall. If you are also building out bongs and bubblers, the wholesale glass pipes category shows the full lineup in one place, so you can see where the pipe row ends and the next category begins.
We’re based in Huntington Beach, CA. We design, make and distribute glass, and we have been at it a decade. If a piece arrives damaged, we replace it. That is the Arrival Guarantee, and on a low-price, high-count pipe order it is the term that matters most.
Why most wholesale guides get this wrong
Search for wholesale pipes and the first page is storefront grids and marketplaces, with no buyer guide in sight. A grid gives every SKU the same size tile, so an entry-level speckled pipe looks the same as a five-piece pack, and a shop buys evenly across both.
A grid cannot show you which one comes back for reorder. That gap is what should decide how your case space splits.

Buyer questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to the buying questions that show up in search results for wholesale pipes.
Where can a smoke shop buy glass pipes wholesale?
From a wholesale supplier that shows live pricing once your account is approved. On our site you register, get approved, and then see live wholesale pricing; pricing stays hidden for guests. Our hand pipe range runs from entry-level mixed-color pieces to thick step-up pipes and multi-piece packs.
What are the cheapest wholesale pipes worth stocking?
The mixed-color glass hand pipes at the entry-level price point. They are the bestsellers in our hand pipe range, led by a 4-inch speckled mix. Low price only works when the piece is a real, usable hand pipe your customer will pick up twice, not thin gas-station glass.
Do wholesale pipes sell better in packs or as mixed-color pieces?
Mixed-color pieces, by a wide margin in our hand pipe range. A pack sells as one line item holding four or five pieces, so it looks slower per line than its piece count, and a pack SKU that goes out of stock stops selling. Use packs for display variety, not for volume.
How many wholesale pipes should a smoke shop carry?
Enough wholesale pipes to cover three lengths and a couple of finishes in the entry tier, a short row of thick step-up pipes, and one or two packs. The entry tier should get the most facings. The right count for your case depends on your floor space and foot traffic.
