What are rolling papers made of?

Rolling papers are thin sheets of plant fiber — usually wood pulp, hemp, rice, or flax — used to wrap loose material into a roll. Wood-pulp papers are the classic white sheet and burn quickly. Hemp and rice run thinner and slower. The fiber and thickness decide how fast a paper burns and how much it adds to the draw, which is the whole reason customers have a brand and material they stick to.

What size rolling papers should I stock?

The two sizes that move are 1¼ and king-size. 1¼ is the everyday default — a hair wider than single-wide and the size most customers reach for. King-size runs longer for bigger rolls and is the pairing for king-size cones. Single-wide and 1½ are slower movers; carry them once your 1¼ and king-size are turning.

What is the difference between papers and cones?

A rolling paper is a flat sheet the customer rolls by hand; a cone is a paper already rolled into a tapered tube with a tip built in, so it only needs to be filled and twisted shut. Cones have taken a large share of the counter because they remove the skill step — anyone can fill one. Most shops stock both: papers for the buyers who roll their own, cones for everyone else. Carry them side by side and let the customer self-select.

Hemp vs rice rolling papers — what’s the difference?

Hemp and rice are the two most-asked materials, and they burn differently. Hemp papers are slightly textured, easy to grip and roll, and burn a touch slower with a faint earthy note — the safe default for most customers. Rice papers are thinner and near flavorless with the cleanest draw, but they are slicker and harder to roll for beginners. Stocking both covers the roll-it-easy crowd and the clean-draw crowd.

How do you fill a pre-rolled cone?

You fill a pre-rolled cone by loading ground material into the open top, tapping it down with a packing tool or the cone’s filler card, and twisting the top shut. Ground material packs more evenly than whole pieces, so a grinder on the same counter is a natural attach. This is the #1 question new cone buyers ask, which is why cones and grinders sell well as a pair.

Is there an order minimum on wholesale rolling papers?

Do I need a license to buy wholesale?
